Job summary

Monarch Education in the NG3 area of Nottingham is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children aged 3 to 18 with complex needs in a specialist setting.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, assisting with personalised learning, communication, sensory and emotional regulation needs, alongside teachers and therapists.

This role offers full-time or part-time hours, competitive pay dependent on experience, and opportunities to develop through CPD and progression.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND or complex needs.
• Caring, patient and resilient approach.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Flexibility to support pupils across a range of ages and abilities.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex SEND needs.
• Assist with the delivery of personalised learning activities tailored to individual abilities and targets.
• Support pupils with communication, sensory and emotional regulation needs.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and support staff to promote pupil development.
• Support pupils with personal care where required.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Monitor and record pupil progress in line with individual education plans.
