Job summary

Monarch Education is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3 to 18 with complex needs in the NG3 area of Nottingham.

Role involves assisting in specialist school settings, delivering tailored activities, and collaborating with teachers and therapists to promote development and safeguarding. The position offers both full-time and part-time hours, with competitive pay dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND or complex needs.
• Caring, patient and resilient approach.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Flexibility to support pupils across a range of ages and abilities.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex SEND needs.
• Assist with delivery of personalised learning activities tailored to individual abilities and targets.
• Support pupils with communication, sensory and emotional regulation needs.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and support staff to promote pupil development.
• Support pupils with personal care where required.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Monitor and record pupil progress in line with individual education plans.
