Job summary

Academics Ltd is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. The role involves supporting learning across Foundation Stage to Key Stage 2, with daily hours 8:30am-3:30pm and a salary of £90-£105 per day.

The successful candidate will work with class teachers, support Maths and English, and assist with pupils with additional needs while upholding safeguarding standards and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a school environment.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service, or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
• Support children's learning across Maths and English.
• Assist with foundation subjects and general activities.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Support pupils with additional needs including ASD or behavioural needs.
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation.
• Work with teachers and school staff as a team.
• Contribute to safeguarding and welfare of pupils.
