Job summary

Ourway Care Ltd in Stevenage is seeking female Support Workers to join a brand-new team for a vibrant young adult with complex needs. You will provide person-centred support, accompany activities, and help develop independence while respecting privacy and dignity.

The role involves assisting with personal care, managing daily routines, and using assistive tech and therapy plans. Flexible patterns include full-time 3 shifts or 24 hours over two shifts with overtime on Bank Holidays.

Qualifications

• Caring, reliable and person-centred approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience of personal care or willingness to train.
• Physically able to undertake moving and handling duties.
• Good literacy and basic IT skills.
• Full UK driving licence and confidence driving an adapted vehicle.
• Willingness to complete mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Providing safe, person-centred support.
• Supporting personal care with dignity and privacy.
• Moving and handling using hoists and specialist equipment.
• Supporting meals and safe eating and drinking.
• Following therapy programmes as directed.
• Supporting communication through assistive technology and personalised strategies.
• Helping with planning, routines and everyday activities.
• Supporting access to the community, social activities, concerts and events.
• Encouraging independence and helping develop everyday life skills.
• Supporting appropriate use of social media and agreed financial transactions.
• Maintaining clear and accurate records.
• Following safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
• Working closely with family members and the wider multidisciplinary team.
