Job summary

Making Space is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for our respite care service in Barnsley, S75 3NP. You will deliver person-centred care, assist with daily routines, meals and activities, and support adults with learning disabilities and physical needs to feel safe and valued.

We offer permanent contracts for 21 or 35 hours per week, paying £13.12 per hour. Benefits include holiday entitlement, pension contributions, and opportunities for training and progression.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in health and social care is essential.
• A caring, patient and understanding approach.
• Confidence supporting adults with learning disabilities and physical needs.
• Good communication skills and a reliable, flexible attitude.
• Willingness to work shifts, including alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care tailored to each individual's needs.
• Support with personal care, medication and daily routines.
• Prepare meals and assist with cooking and household tasks.
• Encourage independence, choice and participation in activities.
