Mencap is recruiting a dedicated Support Worker to assist two individuals with learning disabilities in Launceston on a permanent basis. The role covers personal care, mobility support, community access, and daily living tasks within a 24hr service environment.

Applicants should have excellent communication, a genuine passion for helping others, and flexibility to cover shifts. A full UK driving licence is required and an enhanced DBS check will be carried out.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
• Enabling access to local communities and reducing social isolation.
• Support to increase independence and confidence for people with learning disabilities.

Responsabilités

• Provide personal care and support in daily living activities.
• Assist with moving, hoisting, wheelchair use and medication administration as needed.
• Support the people with a learning disability to access community activities.
