Job summary

Autism Plus in Hull is seeking Support Workers on a 0 hour contract to provide person-centred support to individuals with autism, learning disabilities and mental health conditions within our Hull Supported Living Services. No previous experience required as full training and a 3-week induction are provided; shifts cover days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

You will assist with daily tasks, encourage independence, and help maintain health, wellbeing and community participation.

Qualifications

• Empathetic, observant, and resilient.
• Compassionate and able to manage frustration and upset.
• Able to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people.
• Committed to person-centred support and ongoing training.
• No previous experience required; full induction provided.

Responsibilities

• To assist individuals in their home in accordance with Care Plans.
• Provide practical support for tasks and daily living.
• Provide emotional support by listening and talking with individuals.
• Adapt communication to each individual's needs.
• Respect privacy and dignity at all times.
• Assist in planning and pursuing agreed strategies to support and alleviate behaviour.
• Monitor healthcare needs, including administering medication where applicable.
