Job summary

Portman Recruitment is recruiting experienced Support Workers to join our local temporary staffing bank across Peterborough and the Fenland area. You will support adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental-health needs, physical disabilities and complex care requirements.

Flexible assignments may include days, evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and waking nights. A full UK driving licence and access to transport are strongly preferred because some services are located in rural communities.

Qualifications

• Recent professional experience within care, supported living, residential services or community support.
• Experience with autism, complex needs or positive behaviour support is desirable.
• Flexible availability for shifts including days, evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and nights.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and supporting medication and health needs.
• Helping with cooking, cleaning and everyday routines.
• Encouraging choice, independence and life skills.
• Supporting community activities and appointments.
• Following support plans and completing accurate records.
• Providing consistent support and remaining calm during challenging situations.
