Job summary

Disability North is seeking a dedicated support worker to provide one-to-one assistance to a 33-year-old male with Autism/ADHD at home and in the community in Backworth, North Tyneside. The role is permanent, 20 hours per week with potential for overtime, and requires a calm, patient, and respectful approach.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with challenging behaviour.
• Ability to provide emotional support.
• Experience of assessing needs and determining care requirements.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in care settings.
• Ability to work independently and Lone working with clear professional boundaries.
• Flexible, proactive, and patient approach to support.
• Experience with autism/ADHD is desirable.
• Previous experience in care roles is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for a 33-year-old man with autism/ADHD at home and in the community.
• Support daily living activities and personal care as directed.
• Monitor safety and well-being, responding to distress or agitation.
• Maintain a calm, respectful, and patient communication style.
