Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with profound, severe and complex needs in a Tonbridge, Kent specialist school. The role is full-time and starts ASAP, with training and development opportunities offered.

The ideal candidate will have SEND experience, a caring and patient approach, and strong communication skills. Driving license is preferred to facilitate travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is highly desirable, particularly those with SEND needs.
• Ideally a driving License
• A caring, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with profound, severe and complex needs throughout the school day.
• Assist with personalised learning activities and interventions.
• Encourage communication, independence and social development.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff.
• Provide personal care support where required.
