Job summary

Envision Education in Enfield seeks an Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a mainstream primary school and its SEN unit. Immediate start, no formal TA/SEND qualifications required, but UK experience is essential.

You will work 1:1, in small groups, and in classrooms, aiding teachers, fostering inclusion and pupil engagement while developing confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• At least 3 months' experience working with children in the UK.
• A genuine interest in supporting children with SEND.
• A patient, caring and positive approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• No formal qualifications are required for this unqualified position.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to commute to Enfield.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom, 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support children with additional needs both within the mainstream classroom and SEN unit.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and the delivery of engaging lessons.
• Encourage pupils to participate in learning and support them with classroom tasks.
• Help promote pupils' confidence, independence and social development.
• Observe pupils' progress and share relevant feedback with teachers and other staff.
