Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting for Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join SEND schools across Essex. Start ASAP. No prior classroom experience required; transferable skills from education, healthcare, police, armed forces, sports coaching or care welcome.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, build positive relationships with pupils, and help with learning, communication and emotional wellbeing. Earn £95–£110 per day depending on experience.

Qualifications

• No prior classroom experience required.
• Background in education, healthcare, police, armed forces, sports coaching, or care welcome.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Build positive relationships, helping pupils feel safe and valued.
• Support learning, communication, social development and emotional wellbeing.
• Encourage independence and positive behaviour with patience.
• Assist with personal care and physical needs if required.
• Work with teachers to create inclusive learning environments.
• Adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Support emotional regulation and coping strategies.
