Job summary

TimePlan Education Group is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support pupils aged 11–16 with SEN in a Rochdale secondary school from September. You will work alongside teachers, therapists and SEN professionals to help pupils access learning and develop independence.

The role requires patience, resilience and a compassionate approach, with a focus on promoting positive behaviour, communication and personal development within a safe, structured environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in SEN/SEND, education, care, residential or alternative provision settings.
  • Patience, resilience and empathy are essential.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident supporting pupils with complex needs.
  • Level 2/3 TA qualification or relevant degree is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support in the classroom and wider school environment.
  • Support pupils with EHCPs and individual learning plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour, social skills and independence.
  • Assist with personal development and accessing learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and SEN staff to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
