Job summary

CrossReach is seeking a Relief Care Worker in Scotland to support older people with daily routines, personal care, and companionship. You will join a team delivering person‑centred care across shifts, with training and support to help you succeed.

We welcome applicants with or without prior care experience. You will need to be or become PVG‑registered and SSSC‑registered, and comply with UK work permissions. CrossReach values dignity, respect and compassion in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Prior care experience is welcome but not essential.
• Must be willing to work towards SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare.
• PVG Scheme membership and SSSC registration are required.
• Legal entitlement to work in the UK must be demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care and day‑to‑day living.
• Assist with meals and promote nutrition and hydration.
• Encourage independence and individual choice.
• Help residents remain active and engaged in daily life.
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families.
• Work as part of a team to deliver person‑centred care.
• Maintain accurate records and follow care procedures.
