Job summary

Watton Medical Practice is seeking a Bank Phlebotomist to join our multidisciplinary team. You will provide a safe, efficient venepuncture service, obtain consent, and ensure accurate labelling and transport of samples.

You will work within a supportive GP practice in Norfolk, contributing to patient care and service delivery. Key duties include maintaining SystmOne records, collaborating with GPs and nurses, and upholding safeguarding and confidentiality standards in a patient-centred

Qualifications

• Qualified in Phlebotomy.
• English and Maths GCSEs required.
• Competent IT skills including MS Office.
• Willingness to undertake role-specific training and CPD.
• Knowledge of SystmOne or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient consent for blood samples.
• Perform venepuncture following local policies.
• Maintain accurate patient records in SystmOne.
• Label, package and store samples correctly for lab transport.
• Collaborate with the wider practice team.
• Recognise and escalate safeguarding concerns.
• Act as chaperone when required.
• Participate in audits, meetings and training.
• Support local initiatives to improve patient care.
• Complete opening and closing procedures per practice protocols.
