Job summary

Encompass in Eyemouth is seeking a friendly, empathetic care assistant to support a young person with complex disabilities at home and in the community.

You will help with daily routines, social outings, and personal care when needed, while keeping equipment clean and respecting family privacy. A driving licence is desirable; a car is available for use during support times. Flexible hours up to 16 per week.

Qualifications

• Experience not essential if applicant has suitable attributes.
• Driving licence desirable; client has own car available for use during support times.

Responsibilities

• Support a disabled young person to ensure safety and well-being.
• Support social outings and community engagement.
• Interact with the client and keep them entertained with activities they enjoy in their local community and home.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client's equipment and surroundings.
• Develop a positive relationship with the young person and her family.
• Work alongside a parent or another team member when required but also work independently.
• Provide personal care support as required on occasion.
