Job summary

Encompass in Eyemouth is seeking a friendly, empathetic care assistant to support a young person with complex disabilities at home and in the community.

You will help with daily routines, social outings, and personal care when needed, while keeping equipment clean and respecting family privacy. A driving licence is desirable; a car is available for use during support times. Flexible hours up to 16 per week.

• Support a disabled young person to ensure safety and well-being.
• Support social outings and community engagement.

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client's equipment and surroundings.
• Develop a positive relationship with the young person and her family.
• Work alongside a parent or another team member when required but also work independently.
• Provide personal care support as required on occasion.

Friendly, empathetic, and imaginative person needed to work with an energetic and cheerful young lady with complex disabilities. The role will be centred at home and in the community of Eyemouth supporting all aspects of her daily routine, accessing any activities/clubs, shopping, following and encouraging her interests, and helping her to engage with the local community. A driving licence is desirable; a car is available for use when out and about.

Applications for relief or part of the support hours are welcomed.

Terms:

• Hours per week: Up to 16 hours
• Hours of work: Very flexible with days and times to be agreed.
• £14.05 per hour.
• Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
• Probationary period of 3 months
• Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership
