Job summary

Direct Payment Employer seeks a Personal Assistant in Wales to support an elderly gentleman at home for 10 hours per week. Tasks include personal care, meal preparation for a soft diet, assisting with transfers using existing equipment and light domestic duties.

You will also provide companionship and help him access social activities locally. You will encourage independence, attend to appointments, ensure safety, and report safeguarding concerns as required.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence
• Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills
• Providing companionship in the employer’s home, including conversation and social interaction
• Encouraging the employer to attend appointments
• Ensuring the employer’s safety during working hours
• Carrying out other reasonable tasks as requested
• Ensuring compliance with Data Protection Act
• Being mindful of safeguarding issues and reporting concerns to Carmarthenshire County Council
• Contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority when medical assistance is needed
