Job summary

Choices and Rights Disability Coalition seeks a Personal Assistant to support a lively 12-year-old boy in the local community. You will provide one-to-one support during activities, including swimming, in term time (Fridays) and school holidays, helping him access activities and develop confidence.

The role requires calm, patient, and reliable individuals who can manage emotional moments and maintain safety in busy environments. A DBS check will be completed prior to joining the team.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting children with additional needs would be advantageous.
• Patience, reliability and clear communication are essential.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with the child and family.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support during activities in term time and school holidays.
• Support the child in the community, including swimming and visiting places of interest.
• Maintain calm, reassuring communication and monitor for distress or overwhelm.
