Job summary

Age Concern Hampshire are recruiting a Cook to join our friendly team at the Care & Wellbeing Centre in Locks Heath. You will plan and prepare a two-course lunch, serve meals to a high standard, and ensure meals meet the nutritional needs of our elderly clients.

No formal qualifications are required, but you should be confident in food prep, kitchen cleanliness and be willing to undertake training. The role offers supportive colleagues and regular hours.

Qualifications

• Cooking experience and kitchen confidence are essential.
• Professional cooking qualification preferred or relevant experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a care setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare a two-course lunch daily.
• Serve meals with good presentation.
• Prepare cakes and snacks for mid-day.
• Adapt meals for dietary needs and preferences.
• Monitor supplies and ensure safe food storage.
• Maintain high kitchen cleanliness and follow hygiene rules.
• Support dining area setup and post-meal clearance.
• Attend training and work flexibly for events.
