Job summary

UKCIL Ltd. is seeking a Personal Assistant to support one autistic gentleman in Bristol. The role focuses on social and emotional support, helping expand community access, and engaging in activities that promote wellbeing. Ongoing training and a supportive team are provided.

The position offers stability, values-based care, and an opportunity to contribute to the client’s daily life with patience, sensitivity, and respect for his needs and preferences.

Qualifications

• At least one year’s experience supporting or teaching individuals with emotional or social functioning difficulties, such as autism or learning disabilities.
• Experience with behaviours of concern in personal or professional settings.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Personal qualities: empathy, patience, reliability, mindfulness, attentiveness, adaptability and emotional resilience.
• Average level of fitness or above.
• Motivation and enjoyment for this type of work.

Responsibilities

• Listen, understand and empathise with the client.
• Help client articulate thoughts, feelings, needs and preferences.
• Support walks in the countryside and trips to shops or community facilities.
• Drive the client and team to activities, or navigate car journeys as needed.
• Engage in meaningful activities at home (gardening, maintenance, cooking, etc.).
• Collaborate with family and support team to follow care plans.
