Job summary

UKCIL Ltd. is recruiting a Personal Assistant to support a young boy with autism in Leeds. The role is 4 hours per week, with flexible weekday/evening slots. You will assist with personal care, accompany him on social and leisure activities, and help him remain independent. A caring, patient, and reliable approach is essential, with good communication and confidentiality.

Driving licence is preferred but not essential; a car and appropriate insurance help with travel. Female applicants only.

Qualifications

• Must have driving licence (not essential).
• Car and appropriate insurance.
• Knowledge of working with SEN children.
• Able to swim (where required).
• Confidentiality in caring role.
• Good at building relationships.
• Specialist communication skills such as Makaton, but not essential.
• Ability to stay calm in a stressful situation.
• Good communicator and listener.
• Ability to support behaviours which challenge.
