Job summary

Integrated Care 24 (IC24) is seeking an IC24 Health Advisor for NHS 111 contact handling and guided assessment. You’ll calmly support callers, assess needs, and direct them to the right care, with training and clinician support to build confidence.

The role requires strong communication, empathy and resilience to manage high‑pressure situations. All shifts include weekends, with full-time options and comprehensive training provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rota, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for patients.
• Answer NHS 111 calls, listen to concerns and gather information to understand needs.
• Assess patient needs safely.
• Use NHS Pathways and approved processes to assess urgent and non-urgent conditions.
• Direct callers to the most appropriate care and signpost to services.
• Manage challenging conversations with empathy and professionalism.
• Multitask with accuracy while navigating IT systems.
• Deliver high‑quality care within service standards and patient safety focus.
• Engage in training, coaching and ongoing development.
• Recognise safeguarding concerns and escalate appropriately.
• Support safe patient care through adherence to processes and boundaries.
• Contribute to continuous learning and quality assessments.
