Job summary

Oakgar Recruitment is seeking compassionate Live-in Carers to support clients in their own homes on the Isle of Wight. You will live with the client, help maintain independence and dignity, and build strong relationships with families.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in care, support worker, healthcare assistant, or live-in care roles.
• Compassionate, patient and empathetic nature.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Willingness to undertake enhanced DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Assist with mobility and transfers using equipment when required.
• Support with medication administration and management.
• Prepare nutritious meals and ensure hydration.
• Help with household tasks: cleaning, laundry, shopping.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Support appointments, activities, and community engagement.
• Monitor and report changes in health and wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
• Promote independence, dignity and person-centred care.
