Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant for Barnet Grange Care Home in Barnet. You’ll work as part of a team to maintain cleanliness and laundry standards, delivering hotel-style service to residents.

We value compassion, dignity, and respect. You’ll follow our SOPs, handle laundry tasks, and ensure safety through basic Health & Safety practices. DBS disclosure will be required, and eligibility to work in the UK must be shown.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high‑quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
• Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and maintaining areas in good condition.
• Ensuring residents are treated with dignity and respect and their personal space is respected.
• Working as part of a team to maintain housekeeping and laundry standards.
• Following standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry and ensuring hotel service standards.
