Job summary

Avery Healthcare’s Clare Court Care Home in Birmingham is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant to join a close-knit team. You will maintain cleanliness and laundry to high hotel-service standards, following SOPs and resident-focused care.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving & Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH, plus experience cleaning in public settings. DBS disclosure will be covered by Avery, and you must have the right to work in the UK; flexibility

Qualifications

Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

Work as part of a team to maintain cleanliness and laundry to high hotel-service standards.
Operate according to standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry.
Carry out cleaning duties as instructed by worksheets.
Understand cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings; keep areas well presented and in good condition.
Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect and their personal space is respected.
