Job summary

Renfrewshire Health & Social Care Partnership Care at Home Services is seeking a committed Home Care Worker for Extra Care Housing on a temporary basis. The role involves assisting service users with personal care, meals, and daily living skills as part of a 25-hour week on a 4-on/4-off rota.

You will need care experience, effective communication, and the ability to work within a team. Registration with the SSSC or eligibility to register within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a care setting and delivering intimate personal care or in informal capacity.
• Awareness of a range of long-term conditions and understand the needs of people who require care services.
• Able to demonstrate reliability and flexibility; can work as part of a team.
• Must hold or be able to achieve SVQ Level 2 in Care (SCQF Level 5) or above; must be registered with SSSC or register within 6 months.
• Disclosure Scotland checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist service users with all aspects of personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, medication) and meals.
• Help maintain and develop daily living skills and independence.
• Monitor and report changes in service users’ needs and handle sensitive information.
• Work as part of the extra care team across a 24/7 service.
