Job summary

East Leicester Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly team. The role supports the clinical team with phlebotomy, ECGs, health checks, vaccinations and diagnostic testing, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, maintain infection prevention standards and update patient records accurately, with opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Relevant HCA/clinical experience, ideally within general practice.
• Phlebotomy experience and confidence undertaking clinical observations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Caring, professional and patient-centred approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good organisational and IT skills with accurate record keeping.
• Commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding and infection prevention.
• Willingness to undertake further training and development.

Responsibilities

• Carry out phlebotomy, ECGs, B12 vaccinations and health checks.
• Undertake H. pylori testing, FeNO and spirometry following appropriate training.
• Record clinical observations and accurately update patient records.
• Support the nursing and clinical team with routine patient care.
• Provide a friendly, professional and patient-centred service.
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention, confidentiality and safeguarding.
• Assist with stock management, equipment checks and general clinical room duties.
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice team and undertake training as required.
