Job summary

North Sedgemoor Primary Care Network (CIH) seeks a compassionate Health Care Assistant to join the Community Investigation Hub, based at Burnham-on-Sea War Memorial Hospital. You will support diagnostics, phlebotomy, ECGs, vaccinations and routine observations within a structured clinical team.

The role involves travel to GP surgeries and occasional home visits, following defined protocols, with regular supervision and opportunities to develop clinical skills as the service grows.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant.
• Phlebotomy skills with recent practice.
• Ability to follow protocols and clinical standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Good organisational skills and task prioritisation.
• IT literacy and basic use of clinical systems.
• Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and infection control.
• Willingness to work across multiple CIH sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out phlebotomy in line with local policy and training.
• Support ECGs, spirometry, observations and vaccinations.
• Record activity accurately in clinical systems.
• Travel across CIH sites and member GP surgeries as required.
• Attend PCN meetings and contribute to service development.
