Job summary

The NHS Essex Integrated Care Board and the Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a Health Care Assistant to support an older adult inpatient ward. The role provides hands-on nursing support under supervision, delivering prescribed care plans and promoting patient dignity and independence.

Induction is four days face-to-face at the NHS Essex ICB Education Hub. You will join a 7 days a week service, with shifts rostered to cover the needs of the ward and patients'

Qualifications

• Provide compassionate care under supervision
• Assist with daily living activities including hygiene and meals
• Monitor patient health after appropriate training

Responsibilities

• Help individuals maintain independence by developing daily living, domestic, communication and social skills.
• Assist qualified staff in monitoring patients' health parameters (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight).
• Maintain safe environment and report abnormalities to senior staff.
• Contribute to a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, relatives and staff.
