Job summary

Innovate Care Group is seeking a compassionate Female Support Assistant to support a young woman with complex learning disabilities and non-verbal communication. You will provide tailored practical, emotional and social support to help her live independently and reach her full potential.

The role is based in Luton with guaranteed 30 full-time hours, shifts include days and nights, and full right to work in the UK. Training in Intensive Interaction and Makaton Signing is provided.

Responsibilities

• Help develop non-verbal communication skills using Intensive Interaction and Makaton (training provided).
• Support participation in community activities (farming projects, swimming, dining out, walks).
• Facilitate involvement in music projects and collaborations with local groups.
• Encourage the young woman to overcome challenges, build confidence and celebrate achievements.
• Assist with meal preparation and receive training in diet and nutrition.
• Provide dignified personal care as required.
• Maintain a safe home and during outings.
• Work closely with a team to implement her support plan.
• Communicate openly with her family and significant people to maintain trust.
• Be adaptable to changing needs and undertake other reasonable tasks.
