Job summary

Aurem Care is seeking a dedicated Domestic Assistant to help maintain a comfortable, hygienic and homely environment for residents. You will perform cleaning duties, uphold infection control standards and support the care home team.

The role is 21 hours per week with shifts 8:00am–3:00pm and includes weekend work on a rota. The position offers a £12.71 per hour rate, 28 days annual leave pro rata, life insurance, DBS check, pension, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience.
• Be reliable, hardworking and take pride in your work.
• Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work efficiently.
• Caring and respectful approach towards older people.
• Right to work in the UK or ability to secure it.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties as directed by the Head Housekeeper.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
• Follow all infection prevention and control procedures.
• Adhere to COSHH regulations and safe working practices.
• Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately at all times.
• Respect the privacy, dignity, and individual needs of residents.
• Re-stock cleaning trolleys and maintain clean, organised storage areas.
• Support the wider housekeeping team with additional duties as required.
