Job summary

Aurem Care is seeking a dedicated Domestic and Laundry Assistant to maintain a clean, hygienic and homely environment for residents in our care home. You will perform cleaning tasks, handle laundry duties, and support infection control practices to ensure safety and comfort for residents, visitors and colleagues.

The role offers 28 hours per week (4 days), with shifts 9:00am–4:00pm and includes weekend rota work.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience.
• Reliable and hardworking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently.
• Caring and respectful approach towards older people.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties as directed by Head Housekeeper.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards throughout the home.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures and COSHH regulations.
• Use PPE appropriately and store equipment safely.
• Re-stock cleaning trolleys and maintain storage areas.
• Support the housekeeping team with additional duties.
