Job summary

BBS Recruitment is recruiting a Support Worker for a client in Yorkshire. You will provide person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities, dementia, and/or complex needs, helping them to live safely and independently.

The role focuses on building respectful relationships, supporting daily living activities, and promoting health, safety, and wellbeing while working with families and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, reliable and motivated care worker.
• Ability to provide person-centred care.
• Experience with adults with learning disabilities, dementia or complex needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care and support to adults with learning disabilities, dementia, and/or complex needs in line with individual care and support plans.
• Assist individuals with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, continence care, and mobility support where required.
• Support service users with daily living activities, including meal preparation, shopping, budgeting, household tasks, and attending appointments.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and participation in community, educational, leisure, and social activities.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to individuals living with dementia, learning disabilities, and complex physical or mental health needs.
• Administer or assist with medication safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor and report any changes in individuals' health, wellbeing, or behaviour, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
• Maintain accurate care records, daily notes, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, social workers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.
• Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, dignity, privacy, and respect at all times.
• Comply with health and safety, infection prevention and control, moving and handling, and organisational policies and procedures.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and behaviours of concern, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of those you support.
