Job summary

Sohl Associates Limited is seeking a compassionate care and support worker to follow care and/or support plans for service users with respect and dignity. You will support independent living, assist with health, hygiene and personal care, and help with daily tasks such as dressing, washing and toilet use.

You will also assist with access to work or education, support leisure activities, help maintain contact with family and friends, and perform domestic tasks as instructed.

Responsibilities

• Follow care and/or support plans for each service user/tenant with respect and dignity.
• Help service users live as independently as possible.
• Maintain good health, hygiene and personal care (e.g. dressing, washing, shaving, toilet use).
• Assist with access to work, education or training.
• Support leisure, activities and cultural beliefs in the community.
• Help keep in touch with family and friends and make new friends.
• Assist with domestic cleaning, cooking and shopping tasks as instructed.
• Assist with provision of medication as directed.
• Provide up-to-date information to maintain service user records.
• Respond to health and safety issues and follow infection control policies; complete relevant H&S training and emergency procedures.
• Assist in delivering support to clients who may present behavioural challenges.
• Use IT systems to record information and correspond with team and stakeholders.
• Provide coaching to other team members including observing practice and giving feedback.
