Job summary

Aurem Care is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant to join a warm care home team in the UK. You will help ensure a clean, safe dining environment and support residents throughout meals and daily routines.

The role requires prior kitchen experience, strong teamwork and communication, and a caring, reliable approach around residents. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered, with flexible weekday/weekend hours and DBS support.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant is essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive, reliable, and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Caring and respectful approach when working around residents.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards per COSHH guidelines.
• Washing up and caring for kitchen equipment.
• Cleaning surfaces, floors and following dishwasher schedule.
• Setting up tea trolleys throughout the day.
• Assisting with serving food and supporting residents as needed.
• Clearing trays and keeping dining areas tidy.
• Managing waste disposal and bin emptying.
• Laying tables in the dining room.
• Preparing and serving drinks and refreshments for visitors.
• Supporting the kitchen team with general duties.
