Job summary

Stonehaven Care Group is seeking a dedicated Domestic staff member for Primrose House in Westward Ho, England. This 18-hour-per-week role focuses on keeping resident spaces clean, safe and comfortable.

You'll clean rooms and communal areas, manage laundry, follow infection control procedures, and support residents with dignity while coordinating with care staff and management. The position suits a compassionate, flexible individual.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care home or hospital cleaning is desirable but not essential.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities under pressure.
• Clear, professional communication with colleagues and residents.
• Compassionate, patient nature focused on older or vulnerable people.
• Able to stand long periods and perform manual cleaning tasks.
• Flexible attitude and willingness to adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, offices and corridors.
• Follow infection prevention procedures and use PPE as required.
• Laundry duties: wash, dry, iron, fold and label items.
• Safe waste disposal in line with policies and health rules.
• Maintain hygiene of equipment and report shortages.
• Identify hazards and follow safe working practices.
• Respect residents’ privacy and dignity at all times.
• Report concerns about wellbeing, cleanliness, or maintenance.
• Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality and fire safety policies.
• Collaborate with care staff, kitchen, maintenance and management.
