A calm, patient approach and good communication are essential for her comfort and safety. Candidates must be 18+, have prior care or SEN experience, and be prepared to undertake training in Moving and Handling, First Aid, Peg Feed, and Catheter Care.

Qualifications

• Previous caring experience is essential.
• Experience in childcare or special needs is essential.
• Ability to manage routines and ensure safety.
• Willingness to undertake training (Moving and Handling, First Aid, Peg Feed, Catheter Care).

Responsibilities

• Support and prompt personal care, including toileting, showering, getting in and out of bed, and dressing.
• Assist with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Support and prompt to take medication as required.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support to attend appointments and accompany to activities.
• Support with food shopping and transportation to school/work/social events.
• Encourage socialisation and independence; develop one-to-one relationship.
• Be patient, kind and supportive; maintain confidentiality and safety.
• Report accidents or hazards promptly; ensure the safety of the individual.
