Job summary

ESP Care is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker / Care Assistant in Merthyr Mawr, Wales, with flexible agency hours. The role involves compassionate, person-centred care in nursing home and residential settings under supervision, including personal care, monitoring and recording vital signs, and contributing to care plans.

The ideal candidate holds NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, with at least 6 months UK care experience, and is prepared for DBS and reference checks.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualifications.
• Minimum of 6 months UK-based care assistant experience (within the last 3 years).
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available.
• Willing to undergo DBS and References checks.
• Ability to follow clear Instructions, Policies and Procedures of each Home.
• Strong communication, organisation, and team skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, including Washing, dressing, toileting, continence management, feeding, and mobility.
• Support individuals with social activities, emotional wellbeing, and promotion of independence.
• Monitor, record, and report vital signs and any changes in condition.
• Assist with medication administration where trained and authorised.
• Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and implementation of care plans.
• Accurately document observations, updates, and progress.
