Job summary

St Martins Care Ltd at Washington Manor Care Home in Concord is seeking a Care Assistant to support residents in the latter stages of life. The role offers flexible hours, alternate weekends, and a genuine opportunity to make a difference in a busy care home.

You will follow care plans, promote wellbeing, and work with colleagues to maintain relationships with residents and their families and the local community. No prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Good English (written and verbal)
• Proficient written skills to maintain care plans and care records in line with service policy
• Communication skills to build rapport with residents, communicate effectively with them, and inform colleagues, management, and professionals about their needs
• Problem-solving skills to adapt to and address situations quickly, develop solutions, and recognise/report situations requiring protection
• Ability to assist residents with daily tasks by following their care plan, this may include bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, and using the bathroom.

Responsibilities

• Place residents at the heart of care delivery, respecting their wishes and preferences to enhance wellbeing.
• Help run the service efficiently and effectively.
• Support residents to maintain relationships with their local community.
• Follow care plans and other supporting information for residents.
• Inform the Senior Care Assistant/Nurse of changes in a resident's needs.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of those being supported.
