Job summary

St Martins Care Ltd is recruiting a Care Assistant at Willow Green Care Home, Eastbourne Road, to provide compassionate support to residents in the later stages of life. The role offers flexible hours, alternate weekends, and the opportunity to make a real difference in a busy care home.

You will work under a care plan, maintain records, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care while upholding Fundamental Standards and safety.

Qualifications

• Good English (written and verbal).
• Proficient written skills to maintain care plans and care records in line with service policy.
• Communication skills to build rapport with residents, communicate effectively with them, and inform colleagues, management, and professionals about their needs.
• Problem-solving skills to adapt to and address situations quickly, develop solutions, and recognise/report situations requiring protection.
• Ability to assist residents with daily tasks by following their care plan, this may include bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, and using the bathroom.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that residents are at the heart of care delivery, respecting their wishes and preferences to enhance their wellbeing.
• Contribute to the efficient running of the service.
• Support residents to maintain relationships and connections with their local community.
• Follow care plans and other supporting information regarding residents.
• Inform the Senior Care Assistant/Nurse of any changes in a residents needs.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of those being supported.
