Job summary

St Martins Care in Guisborough is recruiting a Care Assistant on a part-time basis to support residents in a busy care home. The role involves following care plans, helping with daily tasks, and maintaining compassionate, person-centered care that respects residents' dignity and independence.

You will work as part of a team, build rapport with residents and their families, and contribute to a safe, supportive environment in line with Fundamental Standards and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Proficient written skills to maintain care plans and care records in line with service policy.
• Communication skills to build rapport with residents, communicate effectively with them, and inform colleagues, management, and professionals about their needs.
• Problem-solving skills to adapt to and address situations quickly, develop solutions, and recognise/report situations requiring protection.
• Ability to assist residents with daily tasks by following their care plan, this may include bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, and using the bathroom.

Responsibilities

• Role-specific Duties: Ensure residents are at the heart of care delivery, follow care plans, and inform Senior Care Assistant/Nurse of changes in residents’ needs.
• Working with Others: Develop effective relationships with colleagues, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and maintain relationships with residents’ loved ones.
• Leading by Example: Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth, be a role model, and stay professional at all times.
• Personal and Professional Development: Understand Fundamental Standards and regulatory framework, attend training, and follow policies.
