Job summary

Blusource Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Nottingham business to recruit a Company Accountant. This stand-alone role gives full ownership of the finance function, with a focus on improving processes and adding value across the business.

The position is office-based in Nottingham, 10:00am–6:00pm with allocated parking. You should bring experience as a Company Accountant or similar, strong management accounting skills, and familiarity with Sage and Excel to drive financial

Qualifications

• Experience in an all-round accounting role (e.g., Company Accountant, Management Accountant or Finance Manager).
• Strong management accounting skills and the confidence to work independently.
• Experience with Sage or similar accounting software is advantageous; excellent Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function.
• Producing monthly management accounts and overseeing month-end and year-end processes.
• Managing sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations and cash flow.
• Preparing VAT returns and statutory reporting.
• Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and controls.
• Providing financial insight and support to the wider business.

Company Accountant Nottingham Office Based £38,000 to £40,000

This is a stand alone finance position, giving you full ownership of the finance function. They're not looking for someone who simply maintains the status quo, they're looking for someone who enjoys improving processes, challenging the way things are done and adding real value to the wider business.

Key responsibilities

• Taking ownership of the day to day finance function.

To be successful, you'll have previous experience in an all round accounting role, such as Company Accountant, Management Accountant or Finance Manager, with strong management accounting skills and the confidence to work independently. Experience with Sage or similar accounting software would be advantageous, along with excellent Excel skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.

The role is fully office based in Nottingham, working 10:00am to 6:00pm, offering a later start than the traditional working day. You'll also benefit from your own allocated parking space, with the office being easily accessible by both car and public transport.
