SF Partners in Derbyshire is seeking a Company Accountant to lead a transactional finance team and partner with senior stakeholders across the Group. The role focuses on management accounts, budgeting, and robust financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will oversee month-end processes, year-end activities, and support the financial planning cycle while ensuring accuracy and timely submissions to Head Office. Office-based role in Derbyshire.

Responsibilities

• Managing, supporting and developing a transactional finance team.
• Overseeing the preparation and completion of monthly Management Accounts and associated financial reporting within agreed deadlines.
• Assisting with the preparation of the annual financial business plan.
• Supporting the year-end process and completion of the annual audit.
• Consolidating and analysing forecasts, trends and performance for senior stakeholders.
• Ensuring accuracy and timely submission of financial information to Head Office.
• Business partnering with sites across the Group to provide financial support.
• Supporting robust budgets and forecasts considering performance and market trends.
• Overseeing VAT, tax returns, payroll administration, and employee costs.
• Providing training and development to the wider Administration and Accounts teams.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy finance function, overseeing a transactional team and reporting directly into the Financial Controller.

The role offers excellent exposure across the wider business, working closely with the Financial Controller, senior stakeholders and finance teams across the Group. It would suit an experienced Accountant looking for a varied role combining management accounting, team management and business partnering.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing, supporting and developing a transactional finance team.
• Overseeing the preparation and completion of monthly Management Accounts and associated financial reporting within agreed deadlines.
• Assisting with the preparation of the annual financial business plan.
• Supporting the year-end process and completion of the annual audit.
• Consolidating and analysing weekly business unit forecasts, trends and performance, providing meaningful insight to senior stakeholders.
• Ensuring the accuracy and timely submission of financial information to Head Office.
• Business partnering with multiple sites across the Group, providing financial support and guidance.
• Supporting the production of robust annual budgets and forecasts, taking into consideration business performance and market trends.
• Overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of VAT, tax returns, payroll administration, employee costs and benefits.
• Providing ongoing support and guidance to the wider Administration and Accounts teams, including their training and personal development.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting across the business.
