Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Community Therapy Technical Instructor (NHS AfC Band 4) to join the Integrated Community Therapy team in Lancaster. The post may be filled as trainee with band 3 pay during training, and attendance at the Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship is supported.

You will assess function, deliver rehabilitation in homes and care homes, and support occupational therapy and physiotherapy staff while expanding your own professional

Qualifications

• Foundation Degree or equivalent with ambition to complete Assistant Practitioner training within 12 months.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to community settings.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, EMIS and STRATA.
• Literacy at Level 2 or above (GCSEs or Functional Skills).
• Training relevant to Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy core skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload delegated by the clinician and provide rehabilitation interventions.
• Assess functional level and activities of daily living for patients.
• Assist in education and training of care staff across disciplines.
• Provide feedback to qualified therapists and work under supervision.
• Work as a lone worker in community settings while following Lone Working policy.
