This unique and rewarding role involves delivering personalised learning in alternative settings—such as pupils’ homes, community centres, libraries, or virtual platforms—to support academic, social, and emotional progress.

Plan and deliver tailored lessons, primarily across core subjects, for pupils with a variety of needs including medical conditions, anxiety, SEN, or school refusal.

Work 1:1 or with small groups in community settings or through online teaching.

Build strong, trusting relationships to help re-engage learners with education.

Liaise with families, schools, external professionals, and the local authority to ensure effective support.

Record progress, set personalised goals, and contribute to EHCP reviews where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Has experience working with vulnerable learners, SEN, or those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Is highly adaptable, self-motivated, and confident working independently.

Possesses excellent interpersonal, organisational, and safeguarding awareness.

Is committed to promoting pupil wellbeing, resilience, and positive outcomes.

Experience with home or hospital tuition, outreach work, or alternative provision.

Knowledge of trauma-informed practice or mental health support strategies.

Access to a vehicle and willingness to travel locally (mileage reimbursed).

We Offer:

A supportive and forward-thinking team environment.

A varied and fulfilling teaching role with autonomy and impact.

Ongoing training and CPD opportunities tailored to community-based education.

Flexible working approaches within a structured framework.

Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier by negotiation)
