Job summary

Spectrum Care is seeking a Community Support Worker for its Central Residential Service. This full-time role (40 hours per week) supports adults with disabilities in safe, welcoming homes. You’ll assist with personal care, daily tasks, and community engagement, with shift variety including nights and weekends.

The ideal candidate will bring empathy, energy, calm under pressure, and strong communication. NZ driver’s license and background checks are required, with paid induction on starting.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with disabilities or mental health issues is desirable.
• Willingness to obtain a Community Support Worker Level Three or higher.
• Reliability and genuine passion for working with people.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, hygiene, medication, and daily routines.
• Support with cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and household tasks.
• Encourage community participation, events, clubs, and social activities.
• Provide emotional support and maintain calm presence during challenging moments.
• Keep accurate records and communicate with families and colleagues.
