Job summary

Eviqa Complex Care is seeking a Bank Support Worker to assist adults and children with learning disabilities, autism, brain injury and mental health needs across Devon and Cornwall, including Plymouth. You will provide 1:1 community support, help with daily living skills, and offer breaks for families in a flexible, field-based role.

Shifts are evenings, weekends and some nights; pay is £14–£15 per hour with enhanced rates for evenings and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to a car with business use insurance.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply (refunded after 50 hours).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Able to work some evenings, weekends or nights.
• Calm, patient and kind, including when things get challenging.
• Reliable: when you say you’ll be there, you’re there.
• Good communicator who listens and treats people with respect.
• Clear, simple written English for recording shifts on a phone.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 support in the community: days out, appointments, hobbies, social time.
• Helping people build independent living skills and keep their home.
• Short breaks for disabled children and young people.
• Being a familiar face beside a child or adult in hospital.
• Alternative education support and mentoring.
• Short-notice cover when social care teams need someone they can rely on.
• This is support work: no personal care and no medication.
