Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in schools in Bury St Edmunds. No experience is required and you will support pupils with learning in a busy classroom.

Hours are Full-Time, Mon-Fri, 8:45am-3:15pm, with a daily pay rate of £100–£105. This temporary/long-term opportunity offers a first step into education and DBS compliance support from TeacherActive.

Qualifications

• No previous school or Teaching Assistant experience is required.
• Backgrounds in care, youth work, sports coaching, childcare, healthcare, or customer-facing roles are welcome.
• Be patient, reliable, confident and passionate about helping young people succeed.
• DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are expected.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their learning 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
• Provide additional support to pupils who may have SEND or additional needs.

The Role
