An exciting opportunity for a Community Support Worker has arisen within the CAMHS Neurodevelopmental team at NHS, focused on supporting children and young people presenting in crisis. The role involves providing guidance, support, and psychoeducation to young people and families, engaging collaboratively with schools and multi-disciplinary teams, aiming to reduce health inequalities and enhance access to mental health services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen withinLivewell Southwest CAMHS Neuro developmental team and we are looking to recruita band 3 Community Support Worker to work in the intensive support part of the NeurodiversityPathway with children who have or are suspected as having a neurodevelopmentaldisorder and are presenting in crisis. The post will be based at the Terraceson the Mount Gould Hospital site, the team works closely with all otherspecialist CAMHS teams.
The CAMHS Neurodiversity Pathway work withchildren and young people aged between 5 & 18 and their families/carers. Weare fundamentally positioned within the wider network of services for childrenand young people across Plymouth which supports multi-disciplinary working.
This role is central to the CAMHS strategy ofcollaboration to reduce health inequalities across the city as well asimproving access to mental health services.

All Livewell staff are expected to be able and willing to work across a 7 day service.
The post holder willbe responsible for supporting the emotional, psychological and social wellbeingof children and young people with neuro developmental Disorders such as AutismSpectrum Condition, ADHD and Tourettes Syndrome.
The post holder willoffer support and guidance to young people who are presenting in crisis. Theywill also offer support to the young persons family and there will be a highlevel of engagement with schools and other agencies involved in the childslife.
Thepost holder will provide psycho education to young people and families aroundtheir diagnoses and will work with them on the triggers for their presentingdifficulties. They will also attend meetings with the wider network.
Thepost holder will observe children in schools and provide a report of theirfindings in order to assist in a wider neuro developmental assessment.

To work aspart of the CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Team to work with children and
young peoplewho may present in crisis.
To support the delivery of evidencebased targeted interventions in a timely manner
To contribute to the gathering ofrelevant and appropriate information from schools prior to assessment clinicsto ensure that the assessing clinician has the information to support theassessment process.
Toobserve children in schools and provide a report of their findings in order toassist in a wider neuro developmental assessment.
To co run a drop in group for childrenand families that are on the waiting list for assessment
To work with the young person and familyin a community setting that meets their needs
To support the delivery of evidencebased parenting programmes for children and young people with mental healthissues.
To support the Childrens Day Programmewhen required
Where appropriate represent CAMHS in multi-agencymeetings such as EHA, SEND meetings or child protection meetings to share andgather relevant information
To function as a member of the NeuroDevelopmental Team team taking appropriate responsibility for theimplementation of decisions made by the team.
Ensure planned interventions areimplemented effectively and evaluated using Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROMS)
Maintain standards of care to highestlevel within available resources.
To actively participate in linemanagement with senior members of staff.
To liaise effectively with the otherCAMHS community teams across the city.
To develop and maintain relationshipswith providers statutory and non-statutory.
To maintain confidentiality in respectof the young people at all times.
Communicate clearly with children andyoung people, their families and all other health professional groups abouttheir health problems.
Actively participate in clinicalgovernance and quality improvement initiatives, e.g. clinical audit, essence ofcare or clinical policy development.
Ensure that children and young peopleare encouraged to play a part in decision making about the help they need andhow they can access specific interventions.This is to promote person-centred planning.
